Old Hemp's Keeping it Classic at Platinum
"Retro"
Retro is my male co-own from the Marley x Abigail RPG litter. He is Vintage's full sibling. He lives with Jessica Mattan aka Platinum Border Collies in Missouri where he is doing disc, dock diving, and herding. He is a beautiful herding dog with amazing feel, and from all the videos Jessica has sent me, the trainers always love him - and so do the sheep! He is respectful and calm in his style, reminding me a lot of his dam Abigail. He wants to be correct and do the right thing. A very biddable and sensible dog. In disc, he has crazy hops and gets a lot of air, which is why he hasn't done a ton of competing at this point because Jessica didn't want him to injure himself, which is completely valid. Now that he is an adult, he will hopefully get to pursue that sport more. In dock diving, this last summer (2023) he really turned on to the game and starting leaping off the dock so I am eager to see where he goes with that in the upcoming season.
*Update* As of summer 2024, Retro is jumping in the Master division.
When I visited Jessica in 2023, I got to meet Retro again as an older dog (he was 1.5 at the time) and I was really impressed with what a sweet and well rounded dog he has become. He reminds me a lot of his sister Vintage and his mother Abbie. He is a gentle soul, very into his person, with a big will to please. He does very well in her large pack of intact dogs, travels well, is totally accepting of newcomers, and all in all is just a very good boy.
As a co-own, he will be used in Jessica's program as well as mine in the future if all turns out well. He is also open for stud to approved outside bitches.
