Old Hemp's Clever Dash of Style
"Dash"
We’ve had the pleasure of having Dash, one of my co-owns from the Fabrics litter, here for training and further getting to know during the month of April, 2024. And such a pleasure it has been!
When you make choices on which puppies are hopeful breeding candidates, it’s always up in the air and you can never be certain if they will turn out all you hoped. Pups can change so much as they age! And the Fabrics are only 1.5 years old so things can still change but I am SO pleased with who Dash is becoming! Plus, we did his OFA prelims while he was here which came back as Good hips Normal elbows and swabbed him to send off his DNA, which came back Optimal Selection clear, carrier for EAOD.
Dash is a petite, sturdy, well put together male. He’s extremely high drive, at least as much so as his mother, whom he reminds me of immensely. He’s high drive in all aspects a Border Collie should be; herding, food, toys, praise/affection, he’s got it all and is so well rounded. He’s friendly and outgoing, adaptable, focused and serious. He isn’t reactive or aggressive, doesn’t struggle with any over arousal. He would thrive in just about any sport I can imagine but what is just as cool is that he is thriving in what is essentially “just” a pet home! He came to us with no problem behaviors or issues, aside from pulling on the leash. Dash is a superbly stable dog and exactly what I love to see being produced in my program!
Dash’s co-owners are such wonderful people and I’m so glad they gave us this opportunity to hang out with him more and get him started on his obedience, and we hope to get him back in the future to trial with him too. His people came to pick him up yesterday and today, spending some good time with us in the process, and I’m so happy to have such great friends to share this awesome dog with. Props to Kree for doing so well with Dash and helping raise him into his best self!
Dash is open for stud to approved bitches.
